Raised in Florida and now based in Highland, Utah, Vanessa brings a touch of warm elegance to every creation.

She specializes in the highly sought-after coquette and vintage aesthetic—think delicate ruffles, hand-piped flowers, bows, shimmering pearls, and delicious flavors.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far ahead should I book?

We recommend booking at least 3-4 weeks in advance, especially for weekends. For wedding cakes, 3-6 months is ideal. Although we can also come to the rescue at your last minute depending on our schedule. Just ask!

Do you deliver or is it pickup?

We offer both! Free pickup is available in Highland, UT. Delivery is available for an additional fee depending on the distance.

Do you provide cake stands?

Your cake comes with a basic disposable cake plate (included). If you'd like a cake stand instead, just let Vanessa know when you order — stands start at $39.

How do servings work?

Our cake sizes are based on standard party servings (1.5" x 2" slices). We can help you determine the best size based on your guest count. We can also make cupcakes which match the flavor and style of your main cake.

What's the standard cake flavor at Velvet Bow Bakery?

Our signature cake is Colombian-inspired, super moist (right between a pound cake and a sponge cake), with a rich, buttery vanilla flavor and a light tropical tang from a hint of pineapple or orange juice. It's typically filled with dulce de leche, but we can swap in any filling you'd like. Prefer something else? Vanessa also makes a decadent chocolate cake and the Colombian iconic Tres Leches cake.

Do you accommodate allergens or dietary needs?

Yes! Dietary accommodations are available for an additional fee. Vanessa has been creating beautiful, great-tasting cakes and cupcakes with specialty ingredients for over 10 years. While we take precautions, our kitchen also handles dairy, gluten, and nuts, so we can't guarantee a 100% allergen-free environment. Please share your dietary needs when booking so we can guide you to the best (and safest) options.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Vanessa accepts Venmo or cash. Venmo @VanessaBardalez

What are your deposit and payment basics?

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your date via Venmo. The remaining balance is typically due one week prior to pickup or delivery.

Can I make any changes?

Because everything is fresh + custom-made, please double-check your order details before confirming. Please contact us as soon as possible with any changes. Changes within 7 days of your event usually aren't possible. If your order is far in advance, we may be able to adjust it if we haven't started yet.

Delivery/date/address changes must be requested 48+ hours before your due date.

All orders require a 50% non-refundable deposit; remaining balance due 1 week before delivery/pickup.
